IDCON classic - MATLAB version

Running IDCON is very easy:
Just enter idcmenu from within MATLAB to open the IDCON GUI shown on the right.

If you want to download a Datasheet, please click here.

Key Features

IDCON Classic provides powerful and proven methods for the identification of continuous-time, dynamic systems.  IDCON Classic is especially valuable for experimental modeling/identification of continuous-time dynamic systems with arbitrarily varying time-domain input signals.  As with many toolboxes, IDCON Classic functions can be called directly via m-files, or alternatively accessed through the IDCMENU GUI, as shown above.

Looking at the identification results in more detail, you can see excellent results from a small, noisy data set.

Like to work with frequency domain data?  No problems with IDCON Classic,  as it is just as easy to use frequency response data.  The IDCMENU allows you to specify whether you have time-based or frequency based data.

What about Filter Design?

Filter design is based on an amplitude response goal curve (filter characteristics).  The user  defines this graphically in the IDCMENU by using the filter design tool, as shown below. The chosen filter characteristic is then directly realized by the computed transfer function.

Basic procedure:

In the following steps you can see the basic procedure how to use
IDCON classic in  LabVIEW

Info: Please click on the pictures to enlarge them.

Step 1:
enter known system information

Step 2:
select measurement type and load measurement data

Step 3:
define desired system order and further previous knowledge (if available)
Step 4:
initiate the automatic model generation process and view model results (parmeters and graphics)
Step 4:
view the measured output and compare to model - excellent result
