Automatic Controller Design - MATLAB version

ACD for LabVIEWRunning ACD is very easy:
Just enter acdmenu from within MATLAB to open the MATLAB GUI shown on the right.

If you want to download a Datasheet, please click here.

Basic procedure:

In the following steps you can see the basic procedure how to use ACD in  MATLAB

Info: Please click on the pictures to enlarge them.

Step 1:
Select whether to realize the controller as a continuous time (analog) controller or a discrete time (digital) controller

Step 2:
Define the model of the system to be controlled by entering the polynomial coefficients [or (1) read from file, (2) get from IDCON]

Step 3:
Define controller structure and (if desired) further controller loop relevant parameters

Step 4:
Define the desired response behavior graphically. I.e.: You prescribe the dynamics you would like to achieve! This is done by graphically defining a goal and 2 tolerance curves.

Step 5:
Initialize the control design process and press the „Improve Result“ button which yields the desired control loop behavior.

Step 6:
The design results are also shown during the design process. This makes sure you can stop at any time, escpecially when you are comfortable with the result you see.

Step 7:
Graphical representation of the design results as step responses. This allows instantaneous quality checking of th
e disturbance, reference and control signal behaviors as they will happen lateron in reality within the closed control loop.
